Project Details

SaRaT-IWSN project is a PCCA research project under the grant no. 20/2012 supported by UEFISCDI Romania.

The project duration its 36 months, and its main objective is to implement a radio transceiver that is capable of handling multiple communication requirements in a versatile manner. There is a need for a very flexible platform, in which the implementation of physical layer protocols is object-oriented, flexible and easy to modify.

The main stages of the project are:

1. Transceiver and target sensor network specification
2. Transceiver and target sensor network simulation. Experimental model physical layer development.
3. Communications protocols and experimental model testing and validation
4. Experimental model verification and dissemination of the results

The project consortium consists of key research institutions :

• University Politehnica of Bucharest,
• BEIA Consult International,
• “Horia Hulubei” National Institute for Physics and Nuclear Energy.
